The new park in Leppington is a vibrant community space in Sydney’s south-west, transforming 7.6 hectares of unused pastureland along Camden Valley Way into a family-friendly recreation destination.

About the new park

Located across from Forest Lawn Memorial Park, the new park gives the community a shared backyard where people can gather, play, and relax. 

The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure partnered with Liverpool City Council and the community to deliver this park through the Parks for People program. 

The park includes a beginner-friendly pump track, a youth hub, nature-based play area and sensory play spaces.

Shaded picnic areas and accessible amenities throughout the site make the park an inviting destination for visitors to enjoy the outdoors.

Design and consultation process

  1. Step 1

    The first step was to find out what we could and couldn’t do on the site. The top priorities were to protect the site’s unique environment and scenic beauty while providing the community with gathering spaces.

  2. Step 2

    The second step was to seek ideas and feedback from the community and key stakeholders to inform the development of a draft concept design for the new park.

  3. Step 3

    The third step was to present the draft concept design for community feedback and further input before finalising the park’s design.

  4. Step 4

    The fourth step was to share the details of the final design plan for the new park.
