The department worked closely with the City of Parramatta Council, NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) and the community to rezone the Telopea Precinct to support a new integrated, vibrant and cohesive community.

Rezoning for the Telopea Precinct was finalised in October 2018.

The latest information and updates on this work can be found at LAHC Telopea.

Precinct plan

The rezoning of the precinct as part of the Stage 1 Precinct Proposal achieves the LAHC masterplan and leverages the Parramatta Light Rail stop in Telopea, delivering a new village retail centre including a supermarket, speciality shops, and food and beverage outlets.

The Telopea Town Centre will host renewed and upgraded community facilities, including a proposed library, community centre and childcare centre and new and improved open spaces. Around  4,500 new homes will be built, consisting of a mix of affordable, private and social housing
