When it was released in November 2015, the Illawarra Shoalhaven Regional Plan was the first of nine regional plans to be delivered across NSW that set a vision and direction for the future of the region.
It has since helped provide housing, jobs, infrastructure, a healthy environment, green spaces and connected communities for the area.
What's happening now?
Regional plans must be updated every five years to reset priorities for the region for the next 20 years. Following an extensive review, the Illawarra Shoalhaven Regional Plan has been updated.
Illawarra Shoalhaven Regional Plan 2041 builds on the original regional plan to ensure the region grows to be:
- productive and innovative
- sustainable and resilient
- smart and connected
- a region that values its people and places.
