Official Caution issued to Broken Hill Operations Pty Ltd

On 3 January 2023, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to Broken Hill Operations Pty Ltd (BHOP) for failing to obtain construction certificates for the concrete batching plant and warehouse extension at the RASP Mine. BHOP have since submitted a Building Information Certificate application to Broken Hill City Council for the buildings.
Official Caution issued to CEAL Limited

On 20 January 2023, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to CEAL Limited for failing to review the rehabilitation bond for the Ardmore Park Quarry within 3 months of submitting the 2018 Independent Audit report as required by the conditions of consent. Review and revision of rehabilitation bonds is necessary to consider the effects of inflation, changes to disturbance areas and the performance of existing revegetation works.
Fire Safety Order issued to owners of One Central Park

On 10 January 2023, the Department issued Fire Safety Orders to the owners of One Central Park also known as 28 Broadway, 2 Chippendale Way, 1 Carlton Street and 3 Carlton Street, Chippendale, to remove identified external wall panels on the building consisting of Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP). ACP is combustible and poses a fire safety risk. The owners are required to replace the identified ACP with a non-combustible product as well as implement other fire safety measures and provide an inspection report issued by an accredited certifier, certifying that the replacement panels and method of installation comply with the Building Code of Australia. The owners are required to implement fire safety measures to reduce the fire safety risks associated with the cladding until the rectification work is complete.
