Community invited to help shape Lismore's dynamic future
The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment is calling on the Lismore community to help shape the future of their area.
An online community engagement session on the Lismore Regional City Action Plan will be held on Wednesday 9 June at 5.30pm.
The Lismore Regional City Action Plan was released last month and includes 63 actions to help the city thrive including:
- Bringing laneways to life;
- Opening up Wilsons River waterfront to the public;
- Expanding the city’s culture and arts scene;
- Attracting national events to the regional sporting hub; and
- Increasing housing choice.
The Department’s Executive Director of Local and Regional Planning, Monica Gibson is urging people to register for online information sessions to have their say on the future of Lismore.
“The Lismore Regional City Action Plan is a 20-year vision for the city,” Ms Gibson said.
“Lismore is a key regional centre. Partnering with the community to plan for a future that sees the city bursting with jobs, investment and a vibrant lifestyle will help us get it right.”
Anyone can participate in the online community workshop to discuss the vision and goals outlined in the draft plan and explore ideas and concerns that will inform the final Regional City Action Plan.
