We want to help councils speed up development assessments and get housing delivered faster.
Councils approve nearly 85% of development applications for homes in NSW and are crucial to increasing housing supply.
The Faster Assessments program includes $200 million of financial incentives for councils to help achieve housing targets and improve planning performance. The funding will help deliver infrastructure including roads, open spaces and community facilities.
Eligibility
The incentives criteria and application form will be available in the second half of 2024.
Extra support
The financial incentives will be another source of infrastructure funding for councils. This is on top of existing programs such as:
