Precinct Support Scheme

Infrastructure funding

The Precinct Support Scheme is a $85 million local infrastructure grants program which aims to support urban renewal and sustainable growth in planned precincts by providing funding for public and open space projects. As of July 2021, the program’s budget was fully committed.

Projects funded under the Precinct Support Scheme include:

  • public parks and open space improvements
  • streetscape and public safety improvements
  • local waterway rehabilitation and native revegetation
  • community facilities
  • planning and design.

Local councils were responsible for nominating projects for Precinct Support Scheme funding, as well as managing all aspects of the project’s delivery. The department assessed the nominations and manages the Precinct Support Scheme program.
