Official Caution issued to South Coast Mariculture Pty Ltd

On 27 July 2021, the Department issued an Official Caution to South Coast Mariculture Pty Ltd for failing to submit several management plans required prior to the commencement of deployment and operational activities at the Jervis Bay Aquaculture Facility. Management Plans ensure that appropriate environmental management practices are identified and implemented during each stage of the project. The required management plans have since been submitted and are currently under assessment by the Department.
Fire Safety Order issued to the University of Technology Sydney - Faculty of Engineering and IT (Building 11) at 81-117 Broadway, Ultimo NSW 2007

On 14 July 2021, the Department issued Fire Safety Orders to the owners of the University of Technology Sydney - Faculty of Engineering and IT (Building 11) at 81-117 Broadway, Ultimo NSW 2007, to remove identified external wall panels on the buildings consisting of Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP). ACP is combustible and poses a fire safety risk. The owner is required to replace the ACP with a non – combustible product and provide inspection reports issued by an accredited certifier, certifying that the replacement panels and method of installation comply with the Building Code of Australia. The owner is required to develop and implement fire safety measures to reduce the fire safety risks associated with the cladding until the rectification works are complete.

On 30 July 2021, the Department issued a Fire Safety Order to the owners of the NeuRA Institute at 139 Barker Street, Randwick, to remove identified external wall panels on the building consisting of Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP). ACP is combustible and poses a fire safety risk. The owners are required to replace the ACP with a non – combustible product and provide an inspection report issued by an accredited certifier, certifying that the replacement panels and method of installation comply with the Building Code of Australia. The owners are required to develop and implement fire safety measures to reduce the fire safety risks associated with the cladding until the rectification work is complete.
