Penalty Notice issued to Cadia Holdings Pty Ltd

On 6 December 2022, NSW Planning issued a $6,000 Penalty Notice to Cadia Holdings Pty Ltd (Cadia) for failing to obtain a Construction Certificate for parts of the Molybdenum Recovery Plant at the Cadia East Project. Cadia have subsequently obtained a Building Information Certificate (BIC) from Blayney Shire Council.
Official Caution issued to Aus-10 Rhyolite Pty Ltd

On 21 December 2022, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to Aus-10 Rhyolite Pty Ltd for failing to implement the approved Water Management Plan at the Tinda Creek Quarry on 11 October 2022, resulting in water discharging from the Tinda Creek Quarry closed water system.
Following the discharge incident, Aus-10 Rhyolite Pty Ltd have submitted a modification application to NSW Planning seeking approval to permit water discharge from the quarry.
Official Cautions issued to National Parks and Wildlife Service

On 12 December 2022, NSW Planning issued two (2) Official Caution to National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) for failing to implement (1) an Information Management System and (2) a Monitoring Program at the former Quarantine Station site at North Head. NPWS was also issued a Direction requiring management controls to be updated and to implement biodiversity enhancement initiatives, as proposed by NPWS, within the North Head precinct.
Fire Safety Order issued to Abercrombie Business School (Building H70) at Sydney University

On 8 December 2022, the Department issued a Fire Safety Order to the owners of Abercrombie Business School (Building H70) at Sydney University, to remove identified external wall panels on the building consisting of Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP) and conduct associated rectification works. ACP is combustible and poses a fire safety risk. The owners are required to replace the ACP with a non-combustible product and provide an inspection report issued by an accredited certifier, certifying that the replacement panels and method of installation comply with the Building Code of Australia. The owners are required to develop and implement fire safety measures to reduce the fire safety risks associated with the cladding until the rectification work is complete.
