Penalty Notice issued to SecureEnergy Joint Venture

On 21 June 2023, NSW Planning issued a Penalty Notice ($15,000) to SecureEnergy, the company engaged to undertake the construction of Project EnergyConnect (NSW-Western Section), for failing to implement procedures identified in the approved Emergency Management Plan for the project. SecureEnergy have since undertaken measures to ensure future compliance with the approval. NSW Planning will continue to monitor the project to ensure compliance.

Official Caution issued to Warkworth Mining Limited

On 22 June 2023, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to Warkworth Mining Ltd (WML) for exceeded noise impact assessment criteria at three noise monitoring locations for the Warkworth Continuation Project on 20 July 2022.  WML had failed to implement their approved Noise Management Plan on the night of 20 July 2022 in the lead up to the exceedances. WML have since implemented measures to ensure compliance with their management plan and NSW Planning  continues to monitor WML's noise reporting data and implementation of the NMP.
