Fire Safety Order issued to Building C3C, Macquarie University Library

On 18 May 2023, the Department issued Fire Safety Orders to the owners of Building C3C, Macquarie University Library to remove identified external wall panels on the building consisting of Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP). ACP is combustible and poses a fire safety risk. The owners are required to replace the identified ACP with a non-combustible product as well as implement other fire safety measures and provide an inspection report issued by an accredited certifier, certifying that the replacement panels and method of installation comply with the Building Code of Australia. The owners are required to implement interim fire safety measures to reduce the fire safety risks associated with the cladding until the rectification work is complete.

Official Caution issued to Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure Pty Ltd

On 22 May 2023, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure Pty Ltd (Abergeldie) for not complying with the Flora and Fauna Management Plan for the Sydney International Speedway project. Abergeldie was required to install nest boxes prior to clearing of habitat trees; however, nest boxes were not installed prior to clearing activities. Abergeldie has since installed the next boxes to replace the hollows that were cleared.
