Final design

We are excited to announce the completion of the design for Leppington Park.

We worked closely with the local community and Liverpool City Council to develop the design of a new park in Leppington.

Work on Leppington Park is expected to start in mid 2024 and be completed by the end of 2024.

About the new park

The park will provide a new 7.6 ha public open space on Camden Valley Way, Leppington.

With input from two rounds of community engagement, the concept design embraces the natural qualities of the site to create a new vision for the park – respecting and enhancing the existing character of the site and its natural features, while connecting to its history and the community’s multicultural context.

The department’s Everyone Can Play guidelines have been incorporated to deliver spaces to play, relax and connect with family and friends. The new park provides pedestrian and cycle paths, an inclusive play space, picnic and barbeque area, youth hub with basketball half-court, vehicle access and parking, and an amenities building.

The area’s beautiful bushland is an important part of its local identity. It is a place we want and need to preserve as we create spaces for the community to come together, relax, play and enjoy green, open space. Design process

  1. Step 1

The first step was to find out what we could and couldn’t do on the site. The top priorities were to protect the site’s unique environment and scenic beauty and to offer places for the community to get together.

  2. Step 2

The second step was to seek ideas and feedback from the community and key stakeholders to inform the development of a draft concept design for the new park.

  3. Step 3

The third step involved presenting the draft concept design for community feedback and more input before we go any further with developing more detailed designs for the park. This stage includes a design board that lets you take a closer look at the proposed key features of the park. It also included a survey to gather information on community priorities and values that the final plan will need to address.

  4. Step 4

The fourth step provided an opportunity to take a detailed look at the final plan for the new park. The final design illustrates the key features of the plan and highlights how community input has helped shaped the design.
