Accelerated Infrastructure Fund

Round 1 of the Accelerated Infrastructure Fund provided $75.9 million to support the delivery of community infrastructure in high-growth areas of Blacktown and The Hills local government areas in north-west Sydney. This included funding councils to deliver local roads, stormwater infrastructure and public open space projects to unlock development opportunities for new homes and employment land.

Round 1 provided Blacktown City Council with $45 million and The Hills Shire Council with $30.96 million to co-fund and accelerate the delivery of 14 community infrastructure projects worth $145.99 million.

The funding helped fast-track the projects to the construction stage and will support the development of 40,000 new homes and 115 ha of employment land and will create up to 1,000 new jobs during construction.
