Fire Safety Orders issued to the Bellflower, Magnolia and Jacaranda buildings at the Cardinal Freeman Retirement Village, Ashfield (MP08_0260, Inner West LGA)

On 6 May 2021, the Department issued Fire Safety Orders to the owners of the Bellflower, Magnolia and Jacaranda buildings (Buildings 2, 3 and 4) at the Cardinal Freeman Retirement Village, 137 Victoria Street and 4-6 Clissold Street, Ashfield, to remove identified external wall panels on the buildings consisting of Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP). ACP is combustible and poses a fire safety risk. The owner is required to replace the ACP with a non – combustible product and provide inspection reports issued by an accredited certifier, certifying that the replacement panels and method of installation comply with the Building Code of Australia. The owner is required to develop and implement fire safety measures to reduce the fire safety risks associated with the cladding until the rectification works are complete.
