Official Caution issued to Cadia Holdings Pty Ltd

On 17 October 2024 NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to Cadia Holdings Pty Ltd (Cadia) for failing to submit the required Noise Impact Validation and Air Quality Impact Validation reports for the Cadia East Project Mine. NSW Planning is working with Cadia to develop a time frame for submission of the final reports.
Fire Safety Order issued to 171-193 Gloucester Street and 190-210 Cumberland Street, The Rocks

On 24 October 2024, the Department issued Fire Safety Orders to the owners of 171-193 Gloucester Street and 190-210 Cumberland Street, The Rocks, to remove identified external wall panels on the building consisting of Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP). ACP is combustible and poses a fire safety risk. The owners are required to replace the identified ACP with a non-combustible product as well as implement other fire safety measures and provide an inspection report issued by an accredited certifier, certifying that the replacement panels and method of installation comply with the Building Code of Australia. The owners are required to implement fire safety measures to reduce the fire safety risks associated with the cladding until the rectification work is complete.
