The NSW State Design Review Panel (SDRP) includes a team of state government design champions and 6 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members with expertise in design and Aboriginal cultural heritage to promote opportunities to Design with Country.

Francoise is Director of Indij Design and a descendant of Meriam and Kaurareg peoples, her maternal family are from Kerriri. She is an interior, textile designer and artist. Her cultural design review and engagement experience has seen her work on a range of urban projects.

Julie is Director of Landscape Architecture at Tract Consultants. Her wide-ranging knowledge is focused on best practice in landscape architecture and urban design. This experience provides her with key insights into interrelationships between policy and the design profession.

Nicole is Associate and Practice Manager of Smart Design Studio. She is responsible for the Smart Design Studio cultural and large-scale projects team and is committed to promoting sustainability and design excellence in public and cultural projects.

Qianyi is a Director of Sibling Architecture, a collaborative practice that works across residential, commercial and civic sectors with a focus on producing socially engaged outcomes. She is also Associate Professor of Practice at the University of Sydney.

Helen is an architect, landscape, and urban designer, combining professional practice, academic and advisory roles. She is an emeritus professor of architecture and urbanism at UNSW Sydney, a Life Fellow and former National President of the Australian Institute of Architects. Her work has been recognised with Awards including the City of Sydney Lord Mayor’s Prize for urban design excellence.

David is a founding partner and director of GML Heritage. He has qualifications in architecture, urban planning and heritage conservation and more than 30 years’ experience in heritage management, urban planning and design review in both the public and private sectors.

Geoffrey is Director of Geoffrey London Architect and previously Dean at the University of Western Australia. He is a Professorial Fellow at The University of Melbourne, an Adjunct Professor at Monash University, and a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects.

Kate is Director of FLUMINIS Design Advisory Services and was previously the Managing Director of Sydney practice ASPECT Studios. With more than 20 years’ experience she has seen many significant urban renewal and infrastructure projects through design and delivery.

Ken is a Hassell Fellow, Life Fellow and former National President of the Australian Institute of Architects. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2018 for services to architecture, planning and sustainability.

Chris is co-founder of Sydney practice Welsh + Major. The practice’s portfolio ranges from public spaces to private homes and includes hotels, restaurants and bars, retail, workplaces, master planning of public open space and the reinvention of historic buildings.

Ingrid is a Director of JMD Design and a landscape architect with experience in public and private sector as well as academia. She has a passion for championing trees in the built environment and believes that design practice must transition towards a circular design process.

Chi is a director of EM BE CE. She has designed and delivered a broad range of award-winning projects from single homes; multi-residential projects; interiors; commercial, industrial and public buildings; urban precincts; and feasibility studies.

Malcolm was appointed Queensland Government Architect from 2011 to 2021. In this role he provided project and policy advice, design review for projects, and chaired the Queensland Urban Design and Places Panel. He was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2009.

Gabrielle is Managing Director of GMU and is passionate about achieving design quality in the public and private domain. She has held senior positions in both private practice and government assisting in the delivery of numerous design guidelines.

Grace is Director of Other Architects, a Sydney-based practice with an international following. Her firm was awarded Emerging Architecture Practice by Houses Awards in 2021 and INDE Prodigy Award for most promising designer in the Asia-Pacific region in 2018.

Peter was NSW Government Architect from 2006 to 2012 and is currently a member of five state design advisory panels. He is a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects and a current member of the UNESCO-UIA Committee for the World Capital of Architecture.

Stephen is a Director of Neeson Murcutt + Neille. He combined professional practice with teachings and research to establish a rich understanding of architecture in urban design, public and community projects, arts building, sports facilities, schools and multi-unit housing.

Andrew established Sydney-based lahznimmo architects with partner Annabel Lahz in 1994. Within an extensive portfolio of public and urban design projects, the firm has a special emphasis on education and library of architecture.
